'Khoniyar’s Children' wins award at Won Together filmfest

Iranian documentary 'Khoniyar’s Children' has won an award at the sevastopol International Festival of Documentary Films and TV Programs “Won Together” in Russia.

Iranian documentary 'Khoniyar’s Children' has won an award at the sevastopol International Festival of Documentary Films and TV Programs “Won Together” in Russia.

Directed by Arman Qolipour-Dashtaki, the doc won the Best Short Documentary Award at the 27th edition of the event.

the documentary narrates the story of four siblings, who are all over 70 and never married.

They are all isolated and live together as the villagers have shunted them for they believe the four of them are ominous and bring bad luck for the residents of the village.

The documentary was previously nominated for the best short documentary award at the 18th Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in the US.

It also grabbed the best documentary and editing awards at the 37th Tehran Short Film Festival.

The Won Together film event is held annually in the city of Sevastopol, Republic of Crimea, Russia.

The 27th edition of the event was held on November 19-23, 2022.
